University of Regina Team Uses Neutrons to Advance Fossil Research

University of Regina doctoral candidate, Jerit Mitchell, holds a fossilized Tyrannosaurus Rex rib from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, outside the VENUS neutron beamline at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

A team from the University of Regina has discovered evidence of healing and soft tissue preservation in fossils thanks to the use of neutron imaging at ORNL.
